Acne and oily skin
Acne forms when a pore is blocked by oil and dead skin cells. Oily skin makes it more likely, but drying the skin out aggressively usually makes things worse.

Oily skin produces oil to defend itself. Strip it completely with a harsh cleanser or alcohol and the skin reads the shortfall as a signal to produce more — a cycle that only becomes visible weeks later.
A steadier route: gentle cleansing twice a day, one oil-control product, and light oil-free hydration. Oily skin still needs water; oil and water are not the same thing.
If the acne is deep, painful or leaving scars, this routine is not enough and a dermatologist should see it.
