Sensitive and atopic skin
Atopic skin has a weaker barrier: it loses water faster and reacts to irritants sooner.
With sensitive skin the work is subtraction, not addition. The fewer products and the simpler their formulas, the lower the chance of a reaction. Fragrance, alcohol and strong exfoliants are the usual triggers.
Test any new product on a small area first — behind the ear, say — and wait a few days. It is tedious, and it prevents a widespread reaction.
If there is itching, cracking or broken skin, this content does not replace seeing a doctor.
